RoSPA test & certification

Advanced standard, nationally respected

The RoSPA advanced test sets a genuinely high bar. It's graded Bronze, Silver or Gold, and you re-test every three years — so your skills stay sharp.

The grades

Bronze, Silver & Gold

Gold

The highest RoSPA grade, demonstrating an exceptional, consistently high standard of advanced driving or riding.

  • Exceptional roadcraft and control
  • Faultless system application
  • Re-tested every 3 years

Silver

A very high standard showing strong, reliable advanced skills with only minor room for refinement.

  • Strong, consistent technique
  • Confident hazard management
  • Re-tested every 3 years

Bronze

A solid advanced standard, well above the basic test, and a great foundation to build on.

  • Sound advanced technique
  • Good observation & planning
  • Re-tested every 3 years
  • A platform to progress

3

5

Retest & progress

Re-test every three years to keep your skills sharp and aim for a higher grade.

Retesting & progression

Unlike a one-off qualification, the RoSPA grade is re-assessed every three years. It keeps your standard high and gives you a clear goal to work towards — whether maintaining Gold or climbing from Bronze to Silver to Gold.
